Clearing your Java Cache

Clearing the Java Plug-in cache ensures that the browser loads the latest versions of Java applications and applets, rather than using potentially out of date versions stored in the cache. Note that different Versions of Java have different layouts for there Java Control Panels, but the premise is the same.

1. Click Start > Control Panel. Double-click the Java icon in the control panel. However If your computers control panel is locked down, you can still access the java control panel by starting any java application. Next right click on the java (coffee cup) icon that appears in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, and choose Open Control Panel.

The Java Control Panel should appear.

Click Settings under Temporary Internet Files. The Temporary Files Settings dialog box appears.

3. Click Delete Files. The Delete Temporary Files dialog box appears.


4. Click OK on Delete Temporary Files window.
