John Gower - 2003

John joined Police in 1964, left after two years and rejoined Police in 1968.

John was elected onto his first Association Committee in Wellington in 1968. From 1985 to 2002, after moving stations, he served on the Wanganui and Hamilton District Committees. John was awarded the Queen’s Service Medal in 1991 and the Gallagher Shield for ‘Cop of the Year’, Waikato Region, in the year 2000.

After 36 years of service to the Police Association, John was awarded Life Membership in 2003.
