Crime Stats About Meth & Organised Crime
"The crime statistics are all about methamphetamine and the associated organised crime," Police Association President Greg O’Connor said today.
Mr O’Connor was referring to the crime stats released today, which showed a drop in property crime but a rise in violent crime and methamphetamine use.
"Meth seizures are up and so is violence. The two are directly related and violent crime will only come down when police are able to put the same focus and resources into investigating gangs and ‘meth’ production as they do into traffic policing and burglary."
"Police working in all areas have done a fantastic job even though some areas are better resourced than others," Mr O’Connor said.
