Police Association Supports Officers Involved In Prime Minister’s Speeding Motorcade
"The officers involved in the Prime Minister’s motorcade are good cops that were simply doing what they thought was required of them," Association Vice-President, Geoff Smith said today.
Mr Smith was commenting on the announcement of charges being laid on officers involved in the Prime Minister’s speeding motorcade in Canterbury earlier this year.
"While the Association understands some of the charges given the circumstances, we will be fully supporting the officers involved," said Mr Smith.
"We believe they acted in good faith and with a typically Kiwi can-do attitude to their task and we will fight vigorously to ensure the officers do not lose their jobs."
