Your car could have: a breakdown, a flat battery, a flat tyre, or maybe you’ve just run out of petrol, or locked the keys in the car.  At whatever time, you can call Police Welfare Fund Roadside Assist Plus for help on 0800 500 122.
  • Market Value settlement - Your vehicle will be covered for its Market Value at the time of loss. This means if your vehicle is damaged beyond repair or stolen, the cover will pay the market value of the vehicle or the sum insured (whichever is less). Market Value is the reasonable resale value immediately before the loss. A valuation of your vehicle prior to the loss, will be obtained from three Licenced Motor Vehicle Dealers and the average of these valuations will be determined as the market value.

Excess

  • The Standard Excess is $300.
  • Imposed (This is additional to the Standard Excess and determined by the underwriters based on relevant factors, such as driving record and type of vehicle).
  • Underage Driver Excess (in addition to the Standard and any Imposed Excess).
    - If you are over 21 but under 25 the excess is $500.
    - If you are under 21 the excess is $750.

  • If you have selected the Named Driver Option then any other drivers will have an additional excess of $250 applied.

Third Party Only

This covers you for legal liability for damage to someone else's property caused by your vehicle. In addition, your car is covered up to $3,000 for accidental damage and you will not have to pay an excess if the driver of the other car is uninsured, provided you can identify the driver and establish that they are completely at fault.

Third Party, Fire and Illegal Conversion

You have cover as explained in "Third Party Only" and in addition, you're covered if your car catches fire, or is stolen. Your vehicle will be covered for its Market Value at the time of loss. This means if your vehicle is damaged beyond repair or stolen, the cover will pay the market value of the vehicle or the sum insured (whichever is less).

  • Innocent Party Protection - Your No Claim Bonus will not be affected and your excess will be refunded if you are involved in an accident where the other person is completely at fault and you can establish the other driver's identity.
