The NZ Police Association provides a range of services to police staff (both currently serving and retired) and their families. We have a team of more than 60 people in various roles dedicated to providing exceptional service to our members.
About the role
As a Surgical Claims Assessor, you are responsible for assessing and processing all member requests for surgery within the Police Health Plan Policy and Guidelines. You will use your professional knowledge to assess medical information on claims gathering additional information, when required. A critical component of this role is to ensure that all surgical requests are processed within agreed service standards.
About you
We are looking for someone to join the team on a permanent full-time basis. This role might be for you if you have proven experience in:
- Have a thorough general knowledge of medical and surgical processes
- Experience dealing with the legislative requirements of the ACC Legislation
- Be self-motivated and able to work without supervision
- The ability to be self-initiating and to be able to problem solve independently
- Be able to plan, prioritise and have the ability to develop good time management skills
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills
- Be a “team player” committed to the wellbeing of the organisation
- Be pro-active, show a willingness to learn, and the ability to adapt to change
The preferred candidate would be someone who has working in a Surgical Heath Insurance Claims team.
