About us
The NZ Police Association provides a range of services to police staff (both currently serving and retired) and their families. We have a team of over 60 people in various roles dedicated to providing exceptional service to our members. In the Welfare team, our services include health, life, and general insurance products plus a holiday home booking service for our members and their families.
About the role
This permanent role ensures that renewing fire and general policies remain within our delegated risk acceptance framework and processes by liaising with members, internal staff and external underwriters.
In this role you will provide a high level of service and support to all members of the Police Welfare Fund (PWF) and internal staff. You will be responsible for providing a professional, effective and friendly service and communications in line with our organisational values.
You will be responsible for
- Managing renewals, quotes, and policy amendments
- Applying underwriting guidelines and risk appetite
- Maintaining accurate customer records and reporting data
- Collaborating with underwriters to get the best outcomes for members
- Supporting the team with special projects and continuous improvement
- Promoting a safe and healthy workplace
About you
You will work well in a busy environment, have excellent interpersonal communication skills and a positive attitude.
Any of the following skills would also be beneficial:
- Experience in personal lines fire and general insurance
- A strong customer service ethic and friendly, professional manner
- Attention to detail and a process-driven mindset
- Confidence in assessing risk and making informed decisions
- Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal
- A proactive, adaptable, and team-oriented attitude
