The Police Association, Te Aka Hāpai Member Survey 2025 begins this month and is open until June 4.

Members will receive a participation link from NielsenIQ – the research company that conducts the survey.

The objective of the research is to provide an up-to-date perspective of member attitudes and to identify changes and trends by comparing these with results from earlier surveys, which go back to 2008.

The questions that members are asked cover a wide field including what you see as the key issues and main threats to law and order, how you feel about general arming, whether you are satisfied with the resources you have for doing your job, and on Police culture and leadership.

A high completion rate is extremely important for the association because the hard data it produces gives it the tools to advocate on your behalf – whether that be with politicians, Police senior leadership or in the media.

Solid participation from members over the years has delivered a high standard of statistical veracity, which the association hopes will be repeated this year.
