How ‘Holiday Home Deals’ work?

Holiday homes with 3 or more unbooked days in the next 14 days will appear in Holiday Home Deals. Please note, some locations are excluded (Queenstown, Hanmer Springs, Wanaka and Auckland CBD).

The price of a holiday home deal reduces automatically every night at midnight until either the holiday home is booked or the minimum discount price is reached. You must book and pay for a minimum of three nights. Additional nights can be added if they are available.

Example: A holiday home that normally costs $100 per night would cost $300 for a 3-night stay. If the daily discount is set at $15. After 10 days, the total cost would have reduced to $150. The price will continue to reduce until the minimum price is reached or someone books the holiday home.

Full payment is required to secure the deal.

Can I stay for a shorter period than what is booked?

If you need only one or two nights, you can still book and pay for the three-night deal if it is cheaper than making a standard booking. You may leave before the end of your booking, but please let the caretaker know for health and safety reasons.

There is more than 3 days free to book, can I add those?

Yes, you can extend your stay past the suggested dates. Any additional nights added to your booking could receive a discounted rate. Remember discounts only apply 14 days out, normal rates apply post 14 days.

Tip: If you want to stay for six nights, it may be cheaper to make two separate three-night bookings rather than one six-night booking.

What is the refund policy?

Holiday home deals are not included in the standard 24-hour refund period. These are special last-minute deals, if you change your mind after booking, the usual 24 hour cancellation rule does not apply.

Are there any exceptions to the refund policy?

Yes. If you need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, such as a sudden illness or emergency, your request will be considered under the usual holiday home cancellation rules.
